# Seller questions (/docs/creators/faq) ## Getting started [#getting-started] ### Do I need technical skills? [#do-i-need-technical-skills] No. You upload files, check what quarry made of them, set a price, and publish, all in your browser. [Publish your first dataset](/docs/creators) walks you through it. ### What does quarry cost? [#what-does-quarry-cost] Nothing to list, and quarry takes no cut of per-question sales today: agents pay your wallet directly. If that ever changes, you'll hear it from us before it applies to you. ### Is anyone actually buying? [#is-anyone-actually-buying] Per-question sales use test USDC during the beta. Agent payments are new, and we can't promise you sales. Listing is free, so the cost of being early is the time it takes to upload. ### How do agents find my dataset? [#how-do-agents-find-my-dataset] Once published, it appears in the quarry [marketplace](/explore) and in the search that agents use to find sources. quarry matches an agent's question against your dataset's name, description, category, headings, file names, and the opening of each file. Search engines can also index its public page. ## Files and privacy [#files-and-privacy] ### Who can see my files before I publish? [#who-can-see-my-files-before-i-publish] Only you. To prepare your files, quarry sends their text to the reading and search providers listed in the [privacy policy](/privacy). [#do-buyers-get-my-files] No. For each question, they get the few passages that answer it, with the file name, section, and page. See [Prepare your files](/docs/creators/files#what-buyers-see-of-your-files). ### What can buyers do with my passages? [#what-can-buyers-do-with-my-passages] Use them and quote them with a citation to your file and listing. They can't resell them, republish them in bulk, or use repeated questions to rebuild your dataset: see the [terms](/terms). ### Can an agent copy my dataset? [#can-an-agent-copy-my-dataset] The terms forbid it, and each question costs your price, so copying a large dataset gets expensive. [#does-quarry-train-ai-models-on-my-files] No. They're used to run your dataset: to rank it in search, show previews, and answer questions. ### What do I need the rights to? [#what-do-i-need-the-rights-to] Everything you upload. Sell only what you own or are allowed to sell, and no one else's personal data unless you have a legal basis to sell access to it. See [Prepare your files](/docs/creators/files#what-you-can-upload). ## Money [#money] ### Why does my balance say "test funds"? [#why-does-my-balance-say-test-funds] During the public beta, agents pay in test USDC on a test network, and it has no cash value. See [Get paid](/docs/creators/payouts#test-money). ### Will my test balance become real money? [#will-my-test-balance-become-real-money] No. Test USDC stays on the test network and never turns into real USDC. ### When do I get paid? [#when-do-i-get-paid] Within seconds of each paid question. The price goes straight to your wallet in USDC. See [Get paid](/docs/creators/payouts). ### How do I turn USDC into dollars? [#how-do-i-turn-usdc-into-dollars] Withdraw it to an exchange account that accepts USDC on Base, and sell it there. [#do-agents-pay-when-my-files-dont-have-the-answer] Yes. quarry returns the closest passages it has, and the agent pays for them. A clear description helps agents ask you only what your files cover. See [Check what agents will receive](/docs/creators/review#when-the-passages-arent-right). ## When something's wrong [#when-somethings-wrong] ### Why can't I publish? [#why-cant-i-publish] The **Publication** card in **Settings** lists what's missing: a file that's ready, all files processed, and your wallet set up. If **Payout wallet ready** says it couldn't be set up, click **Go to Dashboard**, then **Try again** on the **Balance** card. See [Publish your first dataset](/docs/creators#publish). ### What if a file can't be read? [#what-if-a-file-cant-be-read] It shows **Needs attention** with the reason on its card. Retry it, or upload a corrected copy. See [Check what agents will receive](/docs/creators/review#follow-your-files). ### How do I change the price of a live dataset? [#how-do-i-change-the-price-of-a-live-dataset] Unpublish it, change the price, and publish it again. It keeps its address and its history.
